My favorite part about making row quilts is the variety. They can use traditional blocks, modern improv blocks, all pieced, all appliquéd, or a mix of both. They can be folk art, have lots of negative space, or almost no negative space. They can be traditional horizontal rows, vertical rows, or diagonal rows or “rounds”.
Each row of blocks can be one size, with each row being sized differently. All the blocks can be consistent in size, evenly spaced between the rows, or the spacing can be unique to each row.
