I’m often asked what my favourite perks of this job are. Surprisingly, it’s not access to our brimming fashion closet or occasional front-row seats, as epic as these things are. The perk that never loses its lustre is the opportunity to meet some truly amazing women. That’s why I especially love this time of year where our sole role is to select, photograph and interview Australia’s game changers, innovators, leaders and creatives for our annual Women of the Year (WOTY) issue. And while 2022 has been another strange, turbulent year, we’ve also witnessed positive seismic shifts in politics, social justice, tech, sport and art, all steered by a few good women. Here’s just a snapshot. The all-female Teals helped topple the Morrison government; Linda Burney, our first-ever female Indigenous Affairs…
