A ROUND THE GLOBE According to global data collected by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, three per cent of breast augmentations are performed on children under 18, with the highest rates in Brazil, Colombia and France. Two per cent of liposuction procedures are undertaken by the same age group. In 2014, 64,000 cosmetic surgery patients in the USA were aged 13-19. Although data in Australia is not officially collected, we know that Australians spend big on cosmetic procedures – around $1 billion a year – outspending the US per capita by a whopping 40 per cent.
