It’s a rare quilter who isn’t also a “crafter” in one way or another. Even though quilting is my profession, I’ve dabbled in other needle arts like cross-stitching, crewel embroidery, knitting, crocheting, and even hardanger. And I’ve got a stash of oil and acrylic paints, jewelry findings, and even wood chisels and carving tools waiting to be resurrected on some rainy day.
As if I don’t have enough projects to keep me busy for 10 lifetimes, I fell in love with adorable wooden signs, cute mugs, and clever ceramic tiles all decorated with intricate vinyl lettering and designs in boutique shops. And like any self-respecting crafter, I thought to myself, “I want to do that!” So, I immediately went out and bought myself a cutting machine!
As a self-taught longarm…
