Dübs locos in Spain / Chile

Various researchers, such as Paul Copeland, John Kirchner, Martín Coombes and myself, have concluded that, in 1891, Dübs and Co, Ltd., of Glasgow, produced three, or possibly four, 0 6 0Ts, serial numbers between 2742 and 2746, for a client from Spain, now identified as the Parcocha Iron Ore Railway. The latter decided not to go ahead with its railway project and hence the locomotives were offered for sale. The conventional wisdom of the said señores concluded that they were acquired, in 1894 or 1896, by Chilean State Railways, where they were numbered 219 to 221.
