In November, an email hit my inbox that forced me to dig deep. The Purbrick family was planning a celebration to mark 100 years of ownership of Tahbilk, Victoria’s oldest family-owned winery.
Before our group of Australian wine journalists converged on the winery in the Nagambie Lakes subregion of Goulburn Valley, we were asked to ponder three vintage years from 1980 onwards with personal significance. We were also asked to choose a favourite variety.
