When I was first introduced to Ross Ranch and its founder Claudia Castillo Ross, I imagined a Beth Dutton type from the popular streaming series Yellowstone, sizing me up and then walking away not really wanting anything to do with me. Instead, as I drive through several gates onto the Ross Ranch property, nestled in Knights Valley, Sonoma County, home of some of the finest California Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, I am welcomed by a woman dressed casually in jeans, t-shirt, boots, and a Ross Ranch baseball hat.
