A common fault on the Freelander 1 is that some, or all, of the heater fan speeds can stop working, and it’s normally a subtle failure at first. It usually starts with number one position on the fan switch which, initially, is difficult to spot due to the slow speed of the motor.
If discovered, many drivers can live with this slight inconvenience, as I did. However, later on, my number two setting also failed and, at this point, it starts to become a problem, especially with air conditioning fitted.
