Caleb watched his sister, Marlee, unfold the paper.
“Oh! It’s a snowflake!” he said.
“Pretty cool, huh?” said Marlee. “I’m making decorations for the school’s winter carnival. Want to help?”
“Uh, I don’t think I can cut those tiny little shapes out, Marlee.”
“No problem!” said Marlee, snatching up a piece of green construction paper, a ruler, and a pencil. She traced lines across the paper and passed it to Caleb. “My teacher says that everyone can help somehow! Cut on these diagonal lines, OK?”
“Big green triangles?” said Caleb, as he examined the paper. “Oh, wait, I get it! They’ll be pine trees!”
