‘A short while ago I was commissioned b y the Knitting Net work and Woman’s Weekly to design a spring pattern. It was such a pleasur e to be asked. In addition it had to be easy ; a pattern that w ould suit a beginner who c ould already work double and tr eble crochets but hadn’t progressed to more complicated designs . Tension is the number of stitches and rows that an average knitter will achieve to stated measurements, using specific yarn, pattern and needles. It is used to translate measurements into the number of stitches and rows to be worked.
