TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Australia (TGRA) has opened their order books for the GR Supra GT4 EVO2. A factory-built, racing version of the GR Supra sports coupe, the GT4 is homologated for Australian competition, including the 6-round, 12-race Monochrome GT4 Australia championship. The tenth generation Eldorado, launched for the 1979 model year and offered through to 1985, would be the most successful across the model’s 50-year history. For many, it’s also the last “real” Eldorado. More than 450,000 Eldorados were built in that seven-year period, but less than 2 per cent of that total were convertibles. First used in 1952 on a concept created to celebrate Cadillac’s 50th Anniversary, the Eldorado nameplate became a production model from 1953. Only available as a convertible initially, the first-year Eldorado was defined against other Cadillacs by a cut-down wraparound windshield, special exterior garnish and unique interior trim. Chevrolet are expanding their C8 Corvette lineup for 2026 with the release of the ‘ZR1X’. Described as the true American hypercar, the ZR1X combines engineering from the existing RWD ZR1 and AWD E-Ray to create a package that’s not only more powerful than any previous Corvette, but also more powerful than any other V8 vehicle produced in the USA. “From day one, we designed the mid-engine Corvette architecture with ZR1X in mind,” said General Motors senior VP Ken Morris. “This is the most revolutionary platform in Corvette history, supporting the widest range of American sports cars and delivering world-class performance at every level.” The Corvette ZR1X will be released later this year as a 2026 model, available as both a coupe and hardtop convertible. An ex-Dick Johnson Racing EB Falcon that was driven to victory by John Bowe in the opening round of the 1993 Australian Touring Car Championship (ATCC) has gone in display at the National Motor Racing Museum in Bathurst following an extensive restoration. The car, known as EB2, was one of three EB Falcon-based racers built by DJR to meet the new ATCC regulations that would replace Group A for 1993 and later became V8 Supercars. The first car, EB1, was rejected by CAMS for being too far removed from the roadgoing EB Falcon, but EB2 and EB3 were approved. After one non-championship race at the end of 1992 with Johnson at the wheel, EB2 was driven by Bowe for the 1993 ATCC season, with Johnson driving EB3. That year’s opening…

A real menagerie of motors gathered at Café Elle in Geebung for the June instalment of JUST CARS & COFFEE Brisbane. Under a crisp, clear morning sky, enthusiasts spotted examples of the leaping cat (Jaguar), raging bull (Lamborghini), cobra (XC Falcon), beetle (VW), impala (Chevy) and both kinds of horse – galloping (Mustang) and prancing (Ferrari).
