Singer Group, the specialty restorer and customiser of air-cooled Porsche 911s, is coming to Australia. Zagame Automotive Group has joined Singer’s global partner network and will be responsible for sales and servicing of Singer vehicles for Australia and New Zealand. Supercars fans will have to wait a bit longer to see the Camaro and new Mustang in action on the track, after the category confirmed that the introduction of the Gen3 Supercars ‘Car of the Future’ has been delayed. Originally scheduled to be ready to race by the start of next year’s season (likely late Feb or early March), Gen3’s introduction has now been delayed until August, 2022. Supercars explained that the delay was due to “challenges with international supply chains and ongoing domestic disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic”. If you’re strapped for space a hole in the wall or a compact flatpack shed is all you need to set up a handy work space in the carport or parking area. One of the star cars from the first movie in the “Fast Saga”, this A80 (MkIV) Supra also appeared in the sequel, 2 Fast 2 Furious. In 2001’s The Fast and the Furious, this Supra was one of eight used, according to Fast car expert, Craig Lieberman, who served as a technical advisor and supplied the Supra that was repainted and modified for use as the hero car in the first movie. General Motors Specialty Vehicles announced on 9 June that orders for the new Chevrolet C8 Corvette have opened for Australia and New Zealand, ahead of the first deliveries of the factory right-hand drive coupe and convertible before the end of 2021. With the order books open, pricing for the full range to be offered in Australia and New Zealand through General Motors Specialty Vehicles (GMSV) dealers has also been revealed, including the special ‘Carbon Edition’. After Russell Ingall announced back in April that he was coming out of retirement to race at this year’s Repco Bathurst 1000, Greg Murphy has announced that he’ll be returning to Mount Panorama, too.
