After returning to the 24 Hours of Le Mans as a factory team in 2016, Ford has ended their endurance racing programme, signing off with special liveries for the four factory Ford GTs run by Chip Ganassi Racing at this year’s Le Mans race. Australian pricing has been confirmed for the all-new Toyota GR Supra, along with a local delivery date. Due for release in September, but only in limited numbers, the GR (Gazoo Racing) Supra will be offered in two versions: a GT priced from $84,900; and a GTS priced from $94,900, excluding on-road costs, so driveaway will be around $93,000 and $104,000, respectively. Obviously, this is premium pricing, but Toyota’s Sean Hanley says the Supra “should be compared with vehicles in a much higher price bracket, including top-end European sports coupes”. When JUST CARS detailed the upcoming Chevrolet Camaro 2SS and ZL1 variants for 2019 (issue #280), performance data for the ZL1 had not been confirmed by local importers and converters, HSV. This past May, following full certification of the Camaro ZL1 for Australia, HSV has released that data. Maximum power for the Camaro ZL1 has been confirmed at 477kW at 6,400rpm, with maximum torque of 881Nm at 3,600rpm.
