We’re visiting Dorthe and Claus in their wonderful allotment hut in the Danish town of Odense. The couple bought the hut in 2019 and since then they’ve spent five summers turning a neglected hut and garden into this lush place. When they bought the place, only a few plants were worth saving. There was neither a terrace, nor a usable greenhouse, and the hut itself was inhabitable. For this reason, the couple spent the first few years renovating, focusing on the hut, the greenhouse and the terraces which now frame the garden in a very harmonious way.
Claus, who’s an electrician, is great at implementing Dorthe’s ideas, and he’s done the electricity, constructed the greenhouse, done the plumping and carried out "a million" other handyman jobs. Dorthe tells us that…
