The team spirit was front and centre during the Team Event in Beijing. A total of 10 nations qualified for the competition, which was held for just the third time at an Olympic Winter Games.
Three nations made their debuts: Czech Republic, Georgia and Ukraine. Canada, China, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Russian Olympic Committee and the United States rounded out the top 10.
The 10 nations that contested the Team Event earned the right to participate by earning the highest number of points, based upon the results of the World, European and Four Continents Championships, and the senior and junior Grand Prix Series.
