My Inspiration
Oberon: a magical king, a being so powerful he can change the weather, a legendary Shakespearian creature of the past. Eugene: a Harley rider with dreadlocks, a formidable presence, a creature of the present. Both invested with a quality of insight, of the proper exercise of power. In many ways, the world is in trouble. We need a strong figure with the mythical power of Oberon, and the contemporary strength of Eugene, appropriately directed. Or at least to believe someone like him might exist. One day. My painting is my visualization of that someone.
