Hope
by Lucienne Argent
is a whippet on the beach;
shy, but unable to contain her spring,
she compromises, prances between her owner's legs.
Mowgli's day
by Beatrice Willoughby
brother, sister running,
father waking, rising,
mother snoring, shifting,
i staying, waiting for her
she dressing, drowsily,
i watching, dreamily,
she calling me adoringly
i wagging tail for her
she typing, anxiously
i guarding, quietly,
she holding me wholeheartedly
i happy to be hers
she worrying, softly i sitting, stoically,
she resting, finally,
i living to be loving her
