THE incomparable Hovis, who shares his Friday diary on horseandhound.co.uk, has been out in Versailles, in cardboard cut-out form if not in person, as British Eventing’s official supporter mascot.
Having been, astoundingly, ignored by the selectors for every championship for years, Hovis finally had his call-up.
The 22-year-old Clydesdale, was spotted on the crosscountry course, with the legendary Yogi Breisner (pictured), and with a Parisian gendarme – and he gave the British event horses the benefit of his infinite wisdom as he advised them on their allimportant tactics.
