FOR the second year running, Billy Moran and Pearl Underwood’s star broodmare, Broadstone Dolce Vita (Dee), made a triumphant seasonal debut to stand overall supreme on the first day of this popular show.
The wonderful Demonstrator 16-year-old, now with her third foal at foot — a cracking colt by the Morans’ home-bred Tiger Attack — looked a picture to head the riding and sport horse sections, not only earning a ticket to the final showdown here, but also booking her place at the British Show Horse Association (BSHA) national championships in September, where she won the £1,000 Martin Wood in-hand final last term.
The result was far from plain sailing, though, as Billy is still recovering from a ruptured calf muscle.
