Founded by the eponymous designer in 2017, Austy Lee jewellery was created to offer patrons “psychedelic healing” through the rich colours and dazzling sheen of its creations.
A fresh, irreverent jeweller, Lee draws stylistic influences from eclectic muses including punk rock, Viking gods, sex, Japanese history, Mongolian hawk hunters and the lush landscape of Tsing Yi in the New Territories, where he grew up.
For his latest line, the Psychedelic Light collection, Lee looks to a frequent touchstone—the vibrant colours and morphing shapes of hallucinogenic experiences. In the case of the pieces featured here, he combines this trippy aesthetic with motifs inspired by such unexpected sources as Shinto shrine architecture—and particle physics.
