WHEN YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW. That, at least, is how we felt when we saw the Avington chair: this is a piece of furniture worthy of a legacy, an heirloom in the making.
Despite only launching in 2025, there's something nostalgic about the silhouette, calling to mind vintage safari chairs such as those by mid-century Danish architect Kaare Klint. The Avington, though, draws much of its influence from much further back: traditional English stick chairs.
It's the product of a collaboration between two master craftsmen: Bill Amberg, known for his leatherwork, and Joss Stoddart, an up-and-coming talent who does magic things with timber.
