Pairing a homeowner who has her own embroidery factory with Scott Maddux and Jo leGleud of Maddux Creative, the design duo known for their love of upholstery, trims, fabrics and fripperies, meant you were never going to get a glossy white bathroom. ‘We were playing with colours throughout the whole house, with a lot of 1970s references and moody textures,’ says studio co-founder Scott. ‘We had to bring that sense into this room, too.’ He’s referring to the variations of colour in the glaze of the tiles, the deep reds and pinks on walls and fixtures, the liberal use of cork and, of course, the fringing on the stool.
