Hidden Layers, by Hungarian designer Anna Weszelovszky, was the winner of the inaugural Architecture category and the People's Choice award at this year's World of WearableArt competition and show, which took place in Wellington 1-16 October.
"Architecture and fashion are fundamentally based on art and share common concepts of art, science, and technology," says Heather Palmer, competition director at World of WearableArt, when asked about the impetus for adding an Architecture category to the event this year. "Designers were invited to create a work of wearable art inspired by architecture; the lines, shapes, scale, patterns, and structure to create inventive forms to wear on the moving body."
