JUST OUTSIDE OF PALMA, the coastal capital of Mallorca, lies the village of Gènova – population: 4000. Two of its residents, Melissa Rosenbauer and Thomas Bossert, chose to settle in one of three compact 1950s villas, originally built as summer cottages, both drawn to the cosy home for different reasons. For Thomas, it was the spectacular cactus that adorns the rear courtyard; for Melissa, it was the endless natural light. “When we first arrived here, it was autumn, and the light was just magical,” she says.
