Auralic once suggested a G3 product line, based around its Tesla G3 streaming platform, was incoming [HFN Feb ’24], but has now confirmed a shift to a new flagship X series instead. The first model, the Aquila X3, is priced from £13,799 and debuts both a new ‘design language’ (with 14in touch display) and a modular construction. At its base level, the Aquila X3 marries its G3 streaming functionality to a built-in CD transport and Toslink, coaxial, USB and HDMI eARC inputs. Buyers can then choose between digital and analogue output modules (or both), an analogue input option, and up to 8TB of NVMe storage. Styling is flexible too, with a choice of colour and surface panel materials available.
