CHAIR REVAMP Our “before” chair had fallen prey to a not-so-crafty DIY upholsterer! Before taking it to a pro, we removed the fabric and the nailheads that were (gasp!) nailed into the pretty part of the chair frame; patched the holes with wood filler; then sanded, primed, and painted it. Please don’t shake me! Vigorously shaking a bottle of polish creates air bubbles that can then make their way onto your nails, mucking up your mani-pedi. Instead, roll the bottle between your palms before opening. You can bring me back to life. If not properly stored (someplace dark and dry is best), polish can become sticky and dried out. To restore its original consistency, add a few drops of nail polish thinner (available at beauty supply stores), then roll the bottle between your palms to combine.
