To acetone or not to acetone? There are two types of remover. Ones made with acetone are more efficient at removing glittery polish and gel manis, but the chemical can dry out nails. Non-acetone remover uses less harsh solvents, like ethyl acetate. It may not be as fast or as thorough, but it’s gentler and more moisturizing. Don’t trash me. Along with nail polish and paint, polish remover is considered household hazardous waste (HHW), so don’t pour it down the drain.
