Give me some room. After using your toothbrush, rinse it, then let it air-dry in a holder kept in a cabinet. A holder with individual openings is best. Brushes that touch can contaminate one another with bacteria or viruses. My life span is pretty short. The ADA recommends replacing your toothbrush every three to four months— sooner if the bristles become frayed. The better the condition the bristles are in, the more effectively they’ll remove plaque. I can clean more than your mouth. The tiny bristles on a toothbrush work great on bathroom tile grout, the gunky area around the sink faucet, even the hinges on a toilet seat. And most granite is coated with resin for extra protection before it even leaves the quarry. How often to reseal depends on the density of your slab. Some stone suppliers recommend resealing as frequently as twice a year; others, every few years. To determine if your granite needs a touch-up, pour a few drops of water on it, and watch what happens. If the droplets bead up, you’re in the clear.
