The Duchess of Cambridge and the Princess Royal were in high spirits on their first joint engagement together last week. But while this was their debut as a duet, their shared sense of humour and passion for their work was clear.
Visiting the new headquarters of the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) and the Royal College for Obstetrics and Gynaecology (RCOG) in London, Princess Anne, 71, had Kate and midwives laughing as she recalled fearing one of her babies had become “wedged” when she tripped over in a horse lorry while heavily pregnant.
“I thought: ‘That’s a bit interesting,’” added the mother of Peter Phillips, 44, and Zara Tindall, 40. “Ended up the right way up though.”
