Millions of people around the world turned their heads skywards last week to watch the first solar eclipse of the century. The most spectacular views were seen in the Faroe Isles and Norway’s Svalbard islands, where a total eclipse occurred (top), while people across the rest of Europe, North Africa, parts of Asia and the Middle East were treated to a partial solar eclipse.
