As the great grand-daughter of Louis Breitmeyer, one of the original directors of De Beers, Sophie Breitmeyer has jewellery running through her veins. Although maternal mortality is rare, women of colour are disproportionately at risk. Departing from his trademark black uniform, when we meet Christopher Kane at his Dalston studio, he’s wearing a paint-striped 1982 logo T-shirt.
