Early days
Growing up, I did every sport under the sun, but I started getting more seriously into running when I was 14. After joining a club where we would do athletics, cross country, mountain running and road-relay champs, I represented New Zealand as a junior at the World Athletics Champs, Mountain Running Champs and World Cross Country Champs.
Later, I took up a running scholarship at the University of Portland in Oregon, but I essentially had four years where my running regressed because I suffered from injuries, multiple stress fractures and an eating disorder.
