Aloha,
My name is Kellie Kitaoka. On July 28, my dad, Guy Kitaoka, caught a 1,368-lb marlin off the Kona Coast on the Big Island. This is an enormous marlin! My dad’s birthday was the following day, July 29, which made this catch a little more special.
What made it extraordinary is the fact that my dad caught it on a 20’ Grady White boat. My uncle Darrell Omori was fishing with my dad at the time. They hooked up to the marlin at around 1 p.m. and boarded the fish at around 2:30 p.m. The fish measured 141⁄2 feet in length with an 84-inch girth.
