■ Mark your fishing calendars for another exciting Hawaiian International Billfish Tournament (HIBT), scheduled for August 12 to 18, 2012, in Kona, Hawai‘i.
This prestigious tournament, built on strict International Game Fish Association (IGFA) rules for world records, kicks off Sunday, August 12, as teams register, draw for their tournament boats and participate in the HIBT parade through historic Kailua Village. Then starting Monday, August 13, at 8 a.m. sharp, teams begin five days of tournament fishing. The last fishing day will end Friday, August 17, at exactly 4:30 p.m. On Saturday, August 18, teams, anglers, friends, captains and crews will gather for the annual crying towel and awards dinner.
