October Feast
On October 2, 2010, at approximately 3:30 p.m., "Boomski’s" himself, Bruddah Ola Kino, a Moloka‘i cowboy, paddler, "surfa-rippa," and, of course, "Captain Thirsty," landed his first-ever 38-lb ulua while whipping on his home island of Moloka‘i. Every so often when this busy, hard-working cowboy, paddler and now grandpa of two gets some free time, the quest to catch his first big ulua is always on the agenda. Although he took to the ocean to throw net for fish that day, he found time to throw a few "blasts" (whips) just in case his big ulua was around. After three blasts, there came an explosion from the deep. His quest for a big ulua was over. Awesome!
