We’re back! Last year was our “24-Hour Madness” trip. We had 40 strikes and landed 13 ulua in 24 hours. Halawa Prison Guards did it again in 2004. As we did last year, we hooked up with Merrill DeMello at Hilo Airport, and he brought along a newcomer to our hui, Kaiken. After leaving the airport, we did some shopping, bought ice for the coolers and headed to Hilo Town to pound some grinds; then we were on our way to “da spot.” This year Malcom Ahlo, one of our fishing partners who was with us last year, couldn’t make it because his father-in-law was very sick. Taking his place was another ulua pounder, Chester Kau.
