The International Game Fish Association (IGFA) has announced the approval of two new Hawaii freshwater line-class records on 4-lb and 12-lb test lines. The butterfly peacock bass were caught in Kilauea. Kauai.
Jack N. Gushiken, of Kilauea, caught his 4-lb line-class state-record peacock bass, which weighed 6 lbs 8 oz, on June 18, 2001, breaking his earlier 4-lb test record by more than 2 lbs. Three days earlier, on June 15, Jack landed a 6-lb 9-oz peacock bass oh 20-lb test, filling the vacant record.
