■The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) will hold a public hearing to discuss proposed amendments to Hawaii Administrative Rules (HAR) Chapter 13-47, Hilo Bay, Wailoa River and Wailuku River Fisheries Management Area, and Chapter 13-63, Waiakea Public Fishing Area, all located around Hilo, Hawai’i. The hearing is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. or shortly thereafter, on October 8, 1998, at the Hilo State Office Building, Conference Rooms A-B-C, 75 Aupuni Street, Hilo, Hawaii.
The proposal to amend Chapter 13-47 will be in section 13-47-3(2) to prohibit pond operators from taking juvenile mullet, or pua, from the Wailoa River, where the DLNR has initiated a mullet restocking program.
