■ Most anglers fish with the same group of people, companions who are chosen for their general compatibility. However, in the course of my fishing career I have found myself sharing boats, streams, cliff-sides, reefs, flats and shorelines with an amazing array of characters and fishing companions, often in some pretty remote areas and occasionally in some pretty off-the-wall situations.
My preference, of course, is to share my enthusiasm for fishing with my wife, Jeanette, my family and close friends. My “druthers” outside that circle, would be to fish with people who can teach me something valuable or challenge my intellect.
