Hawai‘i only has 153 current members of the IGFA, despite an active game fishing population of well over 200,000 anglers!
Since 1939, the IGFA has been the international world-record agency for fishing, establishing rules, keeping track of over 4,000 sportfishing records in fresh water, salt water, on conventional tackle and on fly tackle, by men, women and, just recently, by junior anglers in two age groups.
The organization is also active in local, national and international sportfishing conservation and management issues, and maintains an immense information resource with the largest library of gamefish information in the world at its Florida headquarters.
