■ Weird flashes of light reflected around the interior of the Air Pacific 737, and my instant reaction, as a typically paranoid air passenger, was dread of some impending disaster. But a quick glance out the window brought pleasant relief. Our flight was gliding over a sunny, green and recently drenched Fiji landscape, and the many rivers, ponds, and puddles were reflecting sunlight, signaling the start of an exciting adventure holiday.
Thrilled to be back in a land I truly loved, having spent many great years here in the 70s as a yachtie and beachcomber, I would once again explore the wonderful world of Fiji’s myriad and colorful sport fish. But, on this particular holiday, the emphasis would be on fly fishing.
