■ Step aside, George Bush. Virginia Clinton Kelly, mother of President Bill Clinton, is about to show the world her angling prowess. Virginia and husband Dick are heading to Kona, Hawai‘i, on May 2,1993, for a week-long stay filled with sightseeing, golf and, of course, fishing. The highlight of the week will be The Virginia “K” Mother’s Day Cancer Benefit, a fishing tournament that Virginia Kelly will host.
The Kellys, residents of Hot Springs, Arkansas, will be making their first trip to Hawai‘i. Kona residents Glynn and Nancy Ross invited the Kellys, their long-time friends, to be their guests on the Big Island to repay the Kellys for the hospitality they showed the Rosses at the presidential inauguration in January.
