■ There were 32 marlin weighing over 200 lbs caught during April, and of these eight were in the 300-lb size; six were in the 400-lb bracket; four were in the 500-lb range; and four more topped the 600-lb mark.
During the first week of April, the “top boat” was the LANAAU, which, with Capt. Rusty Unger, brought a 620-lb marlin to the scales.
The second week of April, Capt. Bill Casey of the SEA GENIE weighed in a 623-lb marlin.
The third week Capt. Del Cannon brought the largest fish for the month, a 683-lb marlin, to the pier scales. Del is the skipper of the ANNETTA.
