The tournament season is just about at an end as we go to press with the November issue. The last of the year’s tournaments, traditionally centered around the far-flung County of Maui, have garnered their usual rave reviews, seen their usual special kind of entertainment, parties and good times, and it’s about time for the slack season—tournament wise.
For most offshore gamefishermen, now is the time to begin to look at the gear you used to fish this season, your boat, your equipment and to begin to think about upgrading for next year, repairing your tired rods, stripping down your overworked reels, fixing that balky steering, basically preparing for next season.
