Dear Boss:
The 1980 Hawaii International Billfish Tournament was another grand week. The comraderie, weather, parties, seeing old friends, making new, all combined to make this one of the finest experiences a sports fisherman can enjoy.
In my case, boss, there is one minor flaw, no fault of the tournament itself; or all those who work so hard to make it the great event it is. But, fishing is the object, and on Friday, August 15th at 4:00PM, I completed my 45th tournament day without a fish. That’s nine tournaments, boss.
At 4:01 I climbed to the Tuna Tower on the Ihu Nui and communed with the fates.
