■ In these days of doom, gloom, and disaster, it’s refreshing to be able to report that things are (at least temporarily) looking up in one aspect locally, anyhow. Specifically, the fishing in Lake Wilson, out by Wahiawa, has seldom been better. Or, perhaps it might be more accurate to say that the fishing’s great in what’s left of Lake Wilson, as I’m sure that most of us are aware that it’s been a while since there’s been enough precipitation to do much more than dampen the grass.
Now, there’s more than one among us that’s hoped fervently for rain, in copious quantities, ever since the fall of ‘76. The lake has gone down, down, down, until it looks like a miniature version of the Grand Canyon in places. By…
