TRANSPARENCY CORRECTIONS
I enjoyed the Feb.-Mar. 2025 issue of FLY FISHERMAN. The stories about angling legend Lani Waller, fishing small streams, mobile fly shops, and conservation of jack crevales were all excellent. However, I’d like to correct a couple of points made in the article “Transparency: How an American Company is Cleaning up the Anodization Process,” by Ross Purnell.
The first fly-fishing company to become a certified B Corporation in Colorado was actually Fishpond (2015). Patagonia was certified in 2011, but they are not strictly fly fishing and they are based in California. Also, Tibor/Billy Pate reels is coming up on a 50th anniversary, and they have always done all of their design, sourcing, machining, metal finishing, assembly, warranty, repair, and sales in America by American employees.
