The Northwest Florida Water Management District manages more than 212,000 acres of land, much of it available for public access in the Florida Panhandle. In recent years, the district has enhanced and expanded the recreational opportunities at all district-owned lands throughout 16 counties. Activities at each location are compatible with natural resources protection and intended land use priorities. Canoeing, hiking, fishing, hunting, camping, cycling, horseback riding, birdwatching, and more are readily available to all Floridians.
