Pensacola’s Niuhi Dive Charters captain, Andy Ross, spins his 25-foot Sea Cat up to the slip at Southwind Marina and lets off his crew of six divers. The team’s mission was to test a lionfish-locating robot, but after throwing down tanks, talk is less tech-y, and these guys are hungry. Folding up the day’s slathering of over 75 prickly Pterois volitans , into tidy tacos, is on tap.
You see, this story didn’t start under water. It came to be, by eating brunch in Apalachicola with my friend, Nikki Cox of team Hang On, who keeps her Jeep loaded with spear guns.
