Volvo’s SUV market relies heavily on a three-pronged XC SUV range and at the base sits the XC40, recently refreshed with a new T4 variant that at least on paper seems to be the final piece of the Swedish jigsaw puzzle. When I was about eight years old my mum donned a large headscarf, equally enormous earrings, and looked into a crystal ball.
